Junior Post Doc in the Programme Area 4 HORTSYS “Next-generation horticultural systems” in the Research Group: “Controlled environment horticultural systems”
My main research interest is a sustainableand future-oriented food production that is climate-friendly, circular and community-supportive and based on circular economies, nutrient cycling and restoration of soil humus. I am, therefore, particularly interested in sustianable use of natural resources (such as water, soil, air, nutrients) and the nexus of food production, resource efficient energy systems and novel sanitation services. I work with integrated multi-method approaches to assess the sustainability of technologies or agroecosystems and I am experienced in system thinking and analysis. In my work I combine empirical methods such as testing recycling fertilizer in pot or field experiments with analytical methods such as material flow analysis/modelling and multi criteria analysis and integrate participatory elements. I especially like working in interdisciplinary teams and the transdisciplinary cooperation with practitioners.
