Research profile
The main topic of his research is the modelling and measurement of the various physical and physiological states of the Soil Vegetation Atmosphere Transfer system (SVAT). Adopted measurement methods include leaf gas exchange and fluorescence, UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy, VIS/NIR imaging, soil hydrology parameterisation and meteorological approaches. His efforts in SVAT-modelling led to the development of forecast software for soil temperatures under plastic covers, which is now currently used for plastic mulch management in asparagus production in Germany.
