Microbial inoculants have achieved importance for the chemical pesticides and fertilizers market. However, the search of innovative bio-products with high efficiency never ends. Recently, one of the main principles that had supported the design of new bio-products consists of isolation of endophytic microorganisms. These microorganisms have a high potential as plant growth promoters (PGPs) or bio-pesticides. The Leibniz Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops eV (IGZ), Germany, has long term expertise in studying the action mode of PGP bacteria. K. radicincitans, a PGP strain, deeply analyzed and named as a new bacterial species at IGZ, is a promising candidate for bio-inoculants in sustainable agriculture. Corpoica, Colombia established a strain collection of endophytic bacteria and fungi. Potential candidates of endophytic bacterial strains selected from Corpoica collection will be used to receive secure information about how the formulation process of those microorganisms has to be done in order to guarantee their biological activity on real applications by obtaining a formulation prototype.
