Research profile | |
Major research interests are the study of secondary plant metabolism in order to optimise the concentration and composition of certain protective secondary plant metabolites taking the plant-environment interaction into account. Targeted elicitor applications are used to modify the biosynthesis and degradation process of certain, favoured secondary plant metabolites underlined by corresponding gene expression studies. Secondary plant metabolites respond in extremely structure-dependent manner to elicitor applications and ecophysiological effects; also the various functional effects of secondary plant metabolites are tremendously structure-dependent. This enables the generation of plant-based food products with a desired secondary plant metabolites profile. Her research work is published in 92 scientific articles.
