The NutriAct cluster aims at providing the scientific basis for age-based nutritional interventions comprising five scientific projects (A-E). Within the NutriAct cluster the IGZ is involved in the scientific projects E – New Products. As new designed and modified products unprocessed vegetable and herbal (micro)plants with well-defined concentrations and composition of primary and secondary metabolites will be generated for the particular needs and preferences of elderly consumer.  For achieving this objective directed genotype selection with subsequent targeted elicitor application will be combined to design particular metabolite profiles within the plant matrix according to the specific diet demands of the target consumer group.
