Young Science Day 2017

Welcome to the IGZ Young Science Day 2017

The Leibniz Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) invites

students, researchers and everyone interested

to the

Young Science Day 2017

Are you a student and want to learn more about horticultural science?

Are you a young researcher and want to know more about research opportunities in an interdisciplinary field?

Or are you just curious what horticultural science can be?

Come and visit us at the YSD2017 and talk to Master students, PhD students, and researchers and get insights into modern horticultural science

at the IGZ in Großbeeren on

Monday, June 19th, 2017

In form of science slams, PhD students and young researchers will give you insights into their projects and show you the different facets of horticultural science.

On a guided tour, you will see the institute´s facilities, greenhouses, and ongoing experiments.

Moreover, two career talks will highlight opportunities for young researchers outside the world of academia and give you examples of career opportunities outside the lab.

Last but not least, in a panel discussion we will discuss how horticultural science and modern plant breeding can contribute to the upcoming challenges in vegetable food production and security with our guests:

Harald Ebner, MdB (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen), and

Prof. Dr. Bernd Müller-Röber (University of Potsdam).

Got interested? We hope to see you at the IGZ in June and meet and talk to you in person.
